About the Role:

This is a hands-on, supervisory working role.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Supervising,
  • Auditing and monitoring all Housekeeping functions,
  • Ensuring that customer care and service are delivered in a consistent way.

In addition, the Housekeeping Supervisor should ensure that the housekeeping and laundry services operate according to the Departmental Guideline.

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective running of all housekeeping services.
  • Prepare the departmental budget for payroll and overheads.
  • Contribute to the care home's profit by controlling departmental costs, whilst maintaining service standards and product quality.
  • Perform efficient stock control to ensure that cash flow is not tied up unnecessarily and that there is no unnecessary surplus stock on site.
  • Oversee the efficient organisation of work routines for departmental employees, ensuring that all areas are cleaned to the highest standard through effective management and the Compliance Audit processes.
  • Quality cleaning in all areas

Job Requirements

About you:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Awareness of waste disposal and infection control techniques
  • Experience in cleaning and housekeeping functions
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Awareness of COSHH and CQC regulations
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationships, including influencing skills and managing change

Reasonable access outside working hours in emergency situations
